Timeless Traditional Latin Mass Wedding at St. Rita’s Catholic Church | Olivia & Victor

This timeless, traditional Latin Mass wedding at St. Rita’s Catholic Church was written and photographed by Beauty of the Soul Studio. A Virginia Catholic Wedding Photographer.

” Olivia and Victor were both finishing their degrees at Penn State and planning a wedding in Northern Virginia from afar. Their hope was to find a photographer who was not only familiar with a Catholic wedding mass, but specifically, a traditional Latin Mass wedding. As someone who loves photographing TLM weddings, I was thrilled that they chose me to celebrate with them. I knew from our consultation that they were going to have a timeless, romantic, and reverent wedding day, and I was completely correct.

Consistent with the timeless wedding day theme, Olivia’s bridal look immediately reminded me of Grace Kelly with her beautiful lace dress details, regal tiara hairpiece, and soft makeup look.

One beautiful and unique aspect of Olivia and Victor’s wedding is that they chose not to share their first kiss until they were pronounced husband and wife! During the reception, their friends and family definitely chimed their glasses to prompt a kiss a few times more than I typically see at a wedding, and the couple was happy to oblige. Their traditional Latin wedding mass was held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia.

Another special detail of their wedding day was that they chose to hold a graveside blessing at the gravesite of Victor’s mother, who was buried just a few minutes away from the church. It was so moving to me that Olivia and Victor wanted to honor his mother and take time in the middle of their wedding day to visit her. The blessing only took a few minutes, but was one of the most beautiful wedding day moments I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph.

Once the reception festivities began, the room was full of warmth and excitement for the newlyweds! Their classic ballroom reception exuded elegance with gold candelabras surrounded by flower petals at each table. Their cake was a traditional buttercream with yellow piping details topped with an heirloom cake topper! Congratulations, Olivia and Victor! May God grant you many happy years together. ”
