Colorful Fall Catholic Wedding at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in South Orange New Jersey

” We met Monica and Angelo via Zoom when they inquired. They were such a sweet couple, easy to talk to and so genuine. I was so excited to learn that they were close friends with the CFR friars and sisters in the Bronx. I knew some men and women who had entered the community and we bonded with Monica and Angelo over our shared love of the CFRs. They said that there would be a bunch of them at the wedding! I love it when couples invite other priests and religious to their weddings.

As a child, Monica had always dreamed of a beautiful fall wedding. Our God is a God of details. He loves even our littlest prayers. And He is faithful. Angelo and Monica’s wedding day was the perfect fall day. It was sunny, and warm and the trees were in their peak color! Monica’s vision for a colorful fall wedding became a reality on a Saturday in October in New Jersey. We arrived at the beautiful Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in South Orange, NJ. I was in awe of its grandeur. There were many CFR priests, brothers, and sisters there, praying for this sweet couple! It was a beautiful and reverent nuptial Mass. After Mass, we headed to South Mountain Reservation to take photos which provided Monica with the picture-perfect fall backdrop! We headed back to the place we started, the Olde Mill Inn. This spectacular venue in Basking Ridge, NJ is historic and picturesque. The newlyweds danced the night away with their family and friends, the dance floor was never empty!”

” Monica’s family is from Poland and there is a Polish tradition where the parents bestow a blessing on the couple before the Mass. After their joyful first look in the courtyard, they knelt in front of their parents and they each took turns, blessing their children. It was so moving and such a testament to the faith that these two families share.”
