An Elegant Pink Wedding at The Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta Georgia | Olivia & Ethan

This beautiful wedding at The Cathedral of Christ in Atlanta, Georgia was written and photographed by Nicole Sandercock Photography

Olivia and Ethan’s elegant and colorful wedding day was full of beautiful and intentional details, a moving nuptial wedding mass, and tons of colorful flowers. The aesthetics were stunning with pink and orange carefully placed in every part of the day from the mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses, the groomsmen’s ranunculus boutonnieres, and even the stunning floral design at the reception. One of the couple’s desires for their wedding was to have an exceptional guest experience and not a detail was left out! With intentionality as part of their theme, the bride designed a detailed wedding website that listed parking, notes about sunglasses for cocktail hour, and even a video made by the groom explaining to their guests The Catholic Church’s teaching on the Eucharist.

Olivia and Ethan chose to see each other for the first time at the altar but made time for a private moment together before Mass began. Tears were shed as they prayed and exchanged the personal vows they had written for each other. The couple exchanged written letters in their personal journals, which was something Olivia had been doing for years before she even met Evan. It was such a tender and sweet moment to see how long she prayed for her future husband and this day.

Their nuptial wedding Mass was held at the Cathedral of Christ the King, a beautiful stone Gothic Revival-style cathedral in Atlanta, Georgia. This church holds a special significance for both Olivia and Ethan not only as parishioners, but it is where Ethan came into the Catholic Church through RCIA!

The mass was full of joy but also abundant with tears. The couple chose to light a candle in front of the St. Joseph marble altar in memory of Ethan’s late father who had passed just 8 months before their wedding.

Their reception was stunning!! Bright pink peonies, orange ranunculus, blush, and rose pink cabbage roses popped amidst the greenery in the bridesmaids’ bouquets. The sweetheart table featured a floral display complete with hydrangeas, peonies, eucalyptus, and greenery trailing to the floor, giving the impression that flowers were growing from the table itself. Pillar candles and rose tea lights were sprinkled throughout the room and on tables. Table centerpieces featured stunning tall floral arrangements, bud vases with pretty pink floors and tea lights, or rose taper candles with pretty rose and hydrangea arrangements. Gold accents were featured everywhere and warmed up the room beautifully.

For their wedding favors, Ethan and Olivia custom-ordered special Oktoberfest German cookies that are traditional favors at Oktoberfest and other big celebrations. Shortly after their engagement, Ethan’s father gave a suggestion that the couple give out the cookies at their wedding. Their favor table was another intentional way that they honored his father’s memory.

Olivia and Ethan opted for an outfit change during the reception which was so fun! The groom donned a light blue seersucker suit and the bride a white floral and lace top and skirt with light blue heels. It was the perfect outfit for their private last dance and sparkler send-off!

Congratulations, Olivia and Ethan!
