When we met the couple, we were thrilled to hear that they already had a clear theme in mind; Stella Maris, Star of the Sea. Stella Maris is Casey’s favorite devotion, so devoting her wedding to the Blessed Mother seemed both appropriate and beautiful. The theme was seen throughout the day in shades of blue accented with yellow and gold, and in the little details of the day, like the Stella Maris holy cards at every place setting and the framed art print on their gift table. Even their gothic style church is painted in shades of ocean blue and gray!
From a wedding planner’s perspective, we had no complaints about the day! It dawned bright, sunny, and warm for an early February Saturday. The light was present all day, and streamed through the stained glass windows at church to allow for some gorgeous portraits in the church after the mass ended. The biggest problem we encountered was a stubborn bridal veil, which actually ended up making for some cute moments as it tried to escape our beautiful bride several times.
We were so inspired and happy with Casey’s reaction to everything that happened on wedding day. So much joy was present! She had amazing reactions to everything from her bridal bouquet to the reception details. She was practically giddy before she walked down the aisle to Alex. The couple was all smiles all day, but they truly blew us away on the dance floor. Never in close to 100 weddings have we ever seen a dance floor so packed for so long throughout the night! Casey and Alex were on the dance floor all night long, and their friends were right there alongside them until the reception closed down.
